Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), on Friday, stormed to their fifth victory in the 2022 Indian Premier League (IPL) after beating the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by 9 wickets at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai. The Orange Army started their campaign with two back-to-back losses at the hands of Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). But they have stormed back to now find themselves in second in the points table.
Against the Challengers, SRH put their best foot forward thus far in the tournament. After opting to field first, SRH dictated terms right from the word go. Marco Jansen took apart RCB’s top-order after getting rid of Faf du Plessis, Virat Kohli and Anuj Rawat in the second over. Kohli’s dismal run in the championship continued after he bagged his second golden duck. Jansen found his outside edge and Aiden Markram took a simple catch at second slip. Glenn Maxwell and Suyash Prabhudessai got into double digits, but failed to convert.
